kindergarten, here we come!!

Nate had his kindergarten testing day at Eastwood this morning. They cut out shapes, glued, sang songs, etc. with the kindergarten teachers, while the other boys and I ate snacks, visited with other moms, and hung out in the fellowship hall.

Nate had the best time...he had been so excited about it all week!!

So we are completely uncertain about school plans for next year. Tuition has gone up, and now we'll have 3 in school next year. Brian is already preaching twice a month in Union Springs to help with tuition, but we have no idea how we're going to afford all 3. It's pretty much impossible.

We, however, went ahead and went through the whole registration process anyway, including the huge registration fee for all 3, and are just praying that the Lord will somehow provide. There is just no other way it will happen. And at this point, there are not really any other options that we're willing to do, and homeschooling is not really the best thing for our family right now. But we're obviously open to it if the Lord closes the door to Eastwood. Magnet schools (although there's no guarantee they would all get into the same school!) may be an option once the kids are older and depending on their spiritual maturity, but right now I love that they are surrounded by teachers who love the Lord and who love them! Plus, I'm completely spoiled with only going half days...I don't think I can ever go back. :) There are so many benefits, not to mention the classical education they are receiving. So yes, in my opinion, the sacrifices that we're making for them to be there is totally worth it.

But it's completely in the Lord's hands at this point. We just can't make it happen. So we're praying that He will make it happen it that's his will for our boys.

*Update...

1.A week before registration was due, Brian had sent an email to the headmaster, a sweet friend we know well from Eastwood church, asking about any sort of financial aid. We knew they didn't have any scholarships, but it was worth a try to ask. It was confirmed that there were not any scholarships, but he was going to "see what he could do" for us. A glimmer of hope!! A few days later, we found out that if we could continue paying exactly what we're paying now, an anonymous donor wanted to make up the rest of the bill for all 3 of our boys to go to school in the fall!!! I am still in amazement and so, so grateful for the Lord's provision!!! The boys are so excited, and I love that they are able to see the Lord's hand in this whole situation and how He has made it possible for them to go to school at Eastwood!! Praise the Lord!!!!

2. The day after Nate's testing I was up at the school for Henry's "Mexican fiesta" day. I was visiting with the 3 kindergarten teachers, and they were all telling me how much they enjoyed Nate. They said he talked to them more in that 45 minutes than both Hudson and Henry talked their entire kindergarten year! :) I can't wait to see how this little guy does next year! He is so ready and so excited!!

3. A couple weeks after the testing day, Nate got a letter in the mail from Eastwood school saying he was ready for kindergarten in the fall and that he had been "such a delight!" at his testing.

I still can't believe I'm going to have 3 in school next year...and that we get to stay at Eastwood!!

Hooray for Nate the Great! 3 boys in school. How is this possible? Praise God for his generous provision!

So wonderful! It's so amazing how the Lord blesses you when you are righteous.
