Can you believe my guy, the first baby to ever melt my heart, is EIGHT today??

I can't either. Birthdays are just a bittersweet way of telling me that life is flying by, especially with my five little blessings.
Hudson's birthday happened to fall on the first day back to school after a wonderful Christmas vacation. We woke up early enough to enjoy some cinnamon rolls (requested by the birthday boy) for breakfast and some birthday gifts...

Hudson loved his new guitar from Grandma and Grandpa! He's looking forward to taking lessons sometime soon!!

After a fun morning back at school, we picked up the boys (and Brian from his office) and headed to La Zona Rosa, one of Hud's favorites, for lunch...

After lunch Brian went back to work, and the boys and I spent the afternoon out front riding bikes...
Hudson got a new bike from us!!

That evening Hudson had requested chicken enchiladas for dinner, even after having Mexican for lunch. :) We invited a few friends and neighbors over for birthday cake and to visit with Sean and Mandi who are staying with us for a few days before heading off to St. Kitts.
Hudson requested a chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting...

the cake wouldn't be complete without some reese's peanut butter cups on top...

And look who was caught red-handed blowing out his big brother's birthday candles...

(Mandi Miller and Kristy Johnson)
(Maddie Miller and Olive Henninger)
(Parker Johnson and Oliver)

After cake and some visiting, some of us adults enjoyed a few games of bananagrams, while the kids took advantage of their unsupervised play. :)
I think Hudson had a great day!!
