wacky wednesdays...

are back! last summer my friend delta came up with the idea of us (moms at eastwood church) all getting together every wednesday during the summer...something fun (for the kids and moms) was planned every week. it was/is a great way for us to get to know each other better, as well as looking forward to something new and exciting for the kids every week. so now this summer my friend lindsay has taken over the reigns. last week we met at a park downtown, and this past wednesday we met some of our friends at the shakespeare festival park and museum. we played in the art works section, as well as listening to babaar stories at story time in the main part of the museum. babaar is one of the exhibits right now, which is so much fun for the boys. they loved listening to the stories!

around lunch time we headed outside for a picnic lunch and to feed the ducks. we had to go quite a bit away to find some shade and to stay clear of the ducks so we could eat in peace without the ducks trying to eat our food, too. after lunch we went out by the pond to feed them. henry soon discovered that the ducks would run if he chased them. it didn't take him very long to chase all of the ducks into the water. it was hysterical to watch. he had this mischevious grin while he was chasing them, which i was never able to capture on camera. (i did get a little on video though, so if i ever figure out how to do video on this blog, i'll have to post it!) there were a ton of ducks, by the way. the boys did not want to leave, despite the scorching sun. promises of a trip to the library made it easier to get them to the car. we had books due today, so we dropped by the library to turn in books and quickly check out new ones before heading home for some well needed naps.
