last day of summer

So last night it became a reality.  Summer is over. :(  I went to the Eastwood school parent meeting and came home with an armful of parent notebooks, sign up sheets, and information overload of the school year to come.  Yikes!  It's here.  Again I am so thankful that the Lord provided for us to be able to send all 3 boys to Eastwood this year.  Such a huge blessing!

This morning the boys went to their open house to meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and drop off school supplies.  This year for 3rd grade Hudson has Mrs. Lee - we are very excited - she seems like a great teacher!  For 1st grade, Henry has Mrs. Stokes...again!!  Mrs. Stokes moved up to 1st grade, since only 2 teachers were needed for kindergarten this year.  I actually think this is going to really help Henry this year...a familiar teacher he already knows and loves!  So Nate has Mrs.Cox who is so sweet, and he is so ready to be in kindergarten!!

After open house, we headed over to my friend Ashley's mother in law's home to swim for playgroup.  A sweltering, humid day - perfect for swimming!  It was also our last day to spend some time with the Cheney girls before they head to Texas this weekend. :(

The rest of the afternoon was spent playing chess and skyping Grandma, who read some "Mrs. Piggle Wiggle" to the boys.  Definitely a great way to end our wonderful summer!!
