first day

This morning started out with sausage rolls and blueberry scones for breakfast.  The boys were so ready!!  The first day is always a shorter day, so we had a little longer to enjoy the morning before school started at 9.  It was finally time to head to the school.  The lower school always meets in the sanctuary first where they call each class up to follow their teachers down to their classrooms.  No crying this time from this momma; it helped that Nate was so excited!  And I still don't think it's sunk in that 3 of my boys are in school now! :(  And by the way, Nate's class is ALL BOYS!!  Mrs. Cox calls them her "power team."  :)  It was so cute seeing all those boys standing up together with Mrs. Cox...just precious!

After the boys headed down to their classrooms, we went home while Brian went to work for a couple of hours until pick up time.  Jake and I enjoyed the quiet morning together working puzzles and coloring while Oliver took a nap.  When school got out we took the boys to Chappy's Deli for a our traditional first day of school lunch.  Afterward we went next door to the pet store...a treat for the younger boys especially.  And Henry's favorite animals these days are hamsters and guinea pigs, so he was especially excited to check them out. :)  Then we came home to do some homework and explore their new notebooks for this year.

The boys are so excited to be in school!! (we'll see how long that lasts...)
