Wednesday, May 18

today.

Wednesday mornings are our preschool playgroup days. The other moms were sweet to let me have the month of May off, where I can drop the boys off and go run errands or whatever during the time. I had not taken advantage of it until today. Brian came home from a meeting to take the boys for me, so I could get some stuff done around the house. This thing called laundry is killing me. killing. me. I didn't think that adding an extra person would make such a difference but it is. However, I don't think it's the amount of extra laundry; it's just the lack of time. So housework is suffering. All that to say, I had high hopes of getting a lot done during that hour and a half before I had to pick them up, when in fact all I did was clean up the kitchen, fold a couple of clothes, start another load of laundry, feed Oliver, and squeeze in a quick shower before getting the boys. Oh well. At least it was peaceful. I had high hopes of tackling my laundry mountain of clean clothes, but my guest room still looks like this...And I'm not even going to show you the overflowing pile of dirty clothes on my laundry room floor. And it doesn't help that we've had many bed wetting accidents lately, so that just adds to it. And Brian took the boys swimming at the Y the other day, and I haven't even had a chance to wash all of those wet clothes.

But the point of this post was not to bore you with my household failures, but to show you cute pictures of the boys, of course! :)

So while Hudson is playing at Chandler's house this afternoon, I'm eating a late lunch while admiring this sweet view from one of my kitchen windows...
(looking for bugs)

And this little fella is sitting quite content in his bouncy chair right beside me...

Meanwhile, this little guy is sleeping soundly in my bed...

And now my lunch is gone; the kitchen needs to be cleaned again; I should be folding clothes; Oliver will need to eat again soon; oh, and dinner... how and when does that happen??

So time to be productive. Oliver is asleep in his swing...whoops! He was asleep; now he's awake.

Henry and Nate are now inside, playing "Skippyjon Jones" (their all time favorite books and cd's these days) in their closet and drawing pictures of mice and their favorite little Siamese cat-who so desperately wants to be a chihuahua; Jake is still sleeping soundly. We'll see if Oliver will agree to a little housecleaning and dinner prep. On the menu for tonight (my first real home cooked meal in our new kitchen! thankfully, sweet friends have still been bringing us meals-words cannot express our gratefulness...or it's been sandwiches at the ball park...our other home). But back to the menu...

1. crab alfredo over angel hair pasta (one of my favorites from Aunt LeeAnne's recipe box)
2. asparagus (cooked but still a little crunchy, with some lawry's seasoned salt sprinkled on top)
3. bread hot from the oven!

We'll see if it happens...

Meanwhile, meet Skippyjon Jones...
"...a chihuahua to my bones...

...and that's what I think about that!"
