1. Oliver's two front teeth are coming in. I was so surprised to feel them poking through so soon!! Lots of milestones for our little guy. So to go along with his new teeth, he got to try out some soups this week. He happily smacked away on potato soup a few days ago and then parmesan tomato basil soup tonight. I think we might be spoiling him. :) He sure did gobble up his veggies a whole lot quicker with that soup mixed in.

And while he munched on his cheerios, the rest of us enjoyed our scrumptious soup paired with some grilled cheese sandwiches...grilled mozzarella and avocado sandwiches (at least for Brian and me). Yum!!!

2. I just recently joined the crowd on pinterest. oh wow! overwhelming but so many amazing home ideas, crafts, and delicious recipes!! Tonight's meal was a result of it, and I have many more to try in the future.

3. A few weeks ago, our sweet friends, the Miller's, stayed with us for a few days to finish up some packing and support raising before heading off to St. Kitts in the Caribbean to head up CEF (Child Evangelism Fellowship) there. Poor guys. The sacrifices they are making...living on the beach. :) Our boys had the best time while they were here, playing with their 3 year old little girl, Maddie. We're going to miss them at 2Cities but so excited to see how the Lord is going to use them over there!

4. My birthday was a couple of weeks ago. 34. wow! I'm getting old and it doesn't help that the average age of most of the folks at our church is 25. :) I did have a great day though...my boys spoiled me. It was conveniently Brian's day off, so we spent the morning at home with the younger 3, and then after picking up the other boys from school, we ate lunch at Las Salsas, a Mexican restaurant I had never been to before. Yum! Brian then let me spend the rest of the afternoon by myself (!!) walking around Target and Ross, while he was in charge of the boys at home. That evening we had planned on using my Carrabba's gift card (from George and Judy) for a family birthday dinner, but after our rambunctious lunch, we thought better of it. :) While I was out, Brian surprised me by setting up a babysitter for the kiddos so we could go alone! We dropped the kiddos off at the sweet Henninger's house on our way to Carrabba's. We did take Oliver with us (so as not to completely overwhelm Nick and Brooke), and he does so well anyway, it was fun having him along. We got lots of comments, like "oh just you wait until he gets older..."I have a 3 year old myself"...We didn't want to spoil the fun and let on that we actually have 4 other boys, so we just enjoyed the "only one baby" moment. :)

After a delicious meal, we picked up the boys and headed to the Morrison's house to watch some of the National Championship game. They are big Alabama fans over there! :) Leigh even made me a birthday cake...so sweet!

Over all, a great way to spend my 34th birthday! Oh, and it even got better...Brian got me a pedicure at the Renaissance Hotel and Spa that I got to use one Friday afternoon. So, so relaxing, and I even got to catch up on some fun reading.
