a day in mobile

The morning we sadly waved goodbye to our family (who were heading back to Richardson) and the Dauphin Island beach house, we decided to stop in Mobile for the day on our way back to Montgomery.

We drove through the downtown and fell in love with some a-mazing houses and this beautiful display of Christmas lights strung across the streets (which I would LOVE to do on our street one day!)...

We decided to use our Christmas money from Grandma and Grandpa and take the boys to the children's science museum, as well as the imax movie theater (that showed an Australia movie about animals! Perfect!!) there in downtown.

This was right outside the museum. too cute!!
Inside the museum we got to see some real animals from the Australian outback...

The boys had a great time exploring the museum. Also, while we were in Mobile, Brian discovered that they have a Shrimp Basket (one of our favorite restaurants in Orange Beach), so we stopped there for an early dinner on the way back to Montgomery. That tuna dip sandwich was the perfect ending to a wonderful Christmas trip. :)
