flying solo...

yesterday brian left for a week at panama city beach with the senior highers for an RYM conference (reformed youth movement). the boys and i picked up chick fil-a and brought it to the church for a picnic, and we played on the playground while the group was getting loaded up and ready to go. there are about 50 people going this year! it seems to get bigger every year...back in the day, just brian and i would take about 10-12 students. this year they have 9 adults going and probably could have used a couple more!!

here's the group before they loaded everyone up...

and the chaperones...

this is officially brian's last year to go. we thought last year was going to be the last, but this is definitely the last time. i was able to go last year and had so much fun!! (mima, papa, and grandma were so sweet to watch our boys in alabama for us.) i hadn't been to rym since i was first pregnant with hudson. anyway, it was great getting to spend time with the girls and get to know a lot of the youth that i didn't really know. and, of course, the teaching is phenomenal, and the worship is wonderful!! it is just like going to an RUF summer conference, which really excites brian and me for our youth to get a taste of what we experienced in college through RUF and how it changed our lives! it is so amazing how we have had a few of our youth come to know the Lord through these rym conferences!!

here was our group last summer...

so this means that the boys and i are home alone this week until saturday afternoon. i am praying that it will fly by!! this would be a great week to reorganize our guest room and maybe get a few projects done, but i don't think i'm going to be too productive. when this "morning" (more like "all day") sickness is gone, i will be a new person and will hopefully have the energy to get some work done.

we are doing well so far, although i need to post about our little movie experience this morning. not so good!!

At least you got to the movies! I had to drag my kiddos out kicking and screaming because we got there too late to find any seats together. I guess we will try again tomorrow.

Wish we could be there to hang out with you guys this week.
