a day in ok!

on saturday we met my sister-in-law, trisha, and her kiddos for the day at lake murray state park in ardmore, oklahoma. the night before i just happened to check her blog and found out that she and the kiddos were in oklahoma visiting her family for 2 weeks. since we're probably not going to get to go to florida until this fall (and hadn't been there since this past christmas), we really wanted to see them! plus, we know how much hudson and henry love their cousins, so we're so glad it worked out to meet them halfway! we had the best time swimming at the "beach," picnicking, and hiking up to the watch tower/museum. even though there were 5 adults, we still had a hard time keeping track of all 6 cousins! (my mom came with brian and me, and trisha's dad came with her). the kids had such a blast together! it makes me wish we lived closer! :(

after we said our goodbyes to our florida fam, we headed back to richardson. on our way we stopped in sanger, texas at a babes chicken dinner house (http://www.babeschicken.com/ ). alabama needs one of these!! it was delicious! it is a family style restaurant...you can choose from about 3-4 different kinds of meat, and then they bring out big bowls of salad, green beans, mashed potatoes, creamed corn, and biscuits for everyone to share. AND we had chocolate pie and banana pudding pie for dessert. they practically had to roll us out! while you're eating, the waitresses take turns walking around the restaurant singing karaoke style. they were amazing! the boys loved watching them sing...a nice distraction from their exhaustive state!!
