i am just amazed at how hudson and henry can even "fight" over imaginary things. this happens all the time! for example, today in the car hudson was pretending to hold a bat and wanted henry to pitch him a ball so he could hit it. keep in mind, this is all in their imagination. there were no actual balls and bats in the car. well, henry starts crying because he wants a bat, too! sometimes i'm not quite sure if he really understands this concept called imagination. i tried telling him that he can pretend to have a bat, too.
this seems to happen quite a bit, and hudson is able to use it to his advantage. he is always making things up that he knows will frustrate henry. and henry hasn't quite figured out that he can pretend the same thing...like winning pretend races, playing with pretend toys, etc. he gets so upset that hudson has it and he doesn't!! hopefully the light will soon come on for poor little henry.
aside from that, they really do love playing together. fortunately the playing together well far outweighs the arguing (on our good days)! i am so thankful for their close friendship and their sweet love for each other. i am praying that as nate gets older, they will welcome him in, so that he won't feel like the odd man out. right now he's just too little and loves to wreck havoc with whatever they are playing.
as you can see, costumes are always a big hit around here! and of course, we must have the appropriate attire on for each sport. so if we are playing baseball, they must have a baseball shirt on and pants; if it's soccer, a soccer shirt; basketball...a basketball jersey and shorts...you get the idea! no wonder i have piles and piles of landry!! little boys just don't keep their clothes clean, even if it's on them for 10 minutes...it must be a prerequisite for being a boy!

Once again...sounds oh so familiar...I wish Nate and Will could play together...they need buddies.
I must say, the fights over imaginary things is very common in our house too, and we also do the "dress the part" thing, only it bleeds into superheroes as well (a spider-man shirt makes you spider-man, a superman shirt makes you superman, etc.). Kids are so funny! And I love the picture of the boys all dressed up--that's how mine look on any given day at any given time.
Hilary, could you guys come over and play??? You're not that far away! :)
...but i guess little Will will have a playmate pretty soon!
