summer swimmin'

i realize it's officially not summer yet, but it sure does feel like it! the other night some friends of ours invited us over to swim. we weren't sure what the boys were going to do...we hadn't been swimming (in a big pool) since last summer, and the boys weren't really all that fond of it. in fact hudson only wanted to stay on the steps and not even venture out into the water even if we were holding him. henry was a little braver but still afraid.

well, this night was a different story, at least for hudson. he did have his life jacket on, but he did great! most of the time, while holding on to the edge of the pool, he "swam" around the pool all by himself. however, he did get brave and actually "tread water" (still with the life jacket on) a little bit...i was so impressed! i'm telling you, this child is growing up and becoming so independent. we are still debating about when to do swimming lessons (especially since we don't have access to a pool very often), but i think hudson would actually enjoy it now!

i didn't really get many pictures, since i was in the water, too, but when i got out i tried to snap a few. nate really like it, too. he sat in a little float pretty much the entire time! henry was still a little scared but finally got brave enough to ride on some floats. he even rode the big seal all by himself! so did hudson, but the only picture i was able to take is dad and hudson riding together in the picture below.
