Happy Halloween, "Lord of the Rings" style

Tonight our neighborhood went all out with a costume contest, a big screen set up with a Charlie Brown Halloween movie showing, and encouraged all of the homes to provide candy for tricker treaters.  Even the homes that couldn't be there, they had people out on the front porches handing out candy.  Needless to say, we came home with buckets of candy!

So not only did our neighborhood go all out tonight, but Brian did as well with his creativity with coming up with costumes for the boys.  In honor of their love for "Lord of the Rings" and the fact that they are reading The Hobbit right now, they went with that theme...

So Oliver didn't really fit the hobbit mold, but he sure did look cute in his tiger costume that Mima got for him. :)  He had the "roar" down really well!

Meet Frodo Baggins...

gotta love the hairy feet!

and his sidekick, Samwise Gangee...

And then there was Gimli...

We can't forget Gollum!!

And, of course, Gandalf the White...

Finally we were ready to set out on the long journey of trick or treating...

Such a fun night!!
