a full day

After a fun morning of picking blackberries and blueberries with out sweet friends (and neighbors) Brooke, Noah, and Olive, and Amy and Florence, and then inhaling our picnic lunch and playing in a creek at a nearby park, we headed home to pick up daddy to take him to the Birmingham airport.  He's going to Chicago for a few days for our dear friend Ross's wedding.  We tried to figure out a way for us both to go or if a road trip with the whole fam was a good idea; however, in the end it was just easier (and cheaper) for Brian to go.  We had some miles for a free ticket, so that seemed like the best option.  After dropping him off, though, I'm starting to have second thoughts. :)

He, however, is not going alone.  Tyler Martin and Soren Geiger, some old Eastwood youth, who were also close with Ross, decided to join the fun.  So now they all get to explore Chicago together!  I'm a little jealous.  Brian took the youth there on a mission trip several years ago, and I didn't get to go.  He's always wanted to take me...he loves that city!  Someday I'm hoping we'll get to go together.  So, meanwhile, I'm going to have to live vicariously through his pictures he's supposed to be sending me.

After dropping him off, the boys and I ate at chick-fil-a for an early dinner and then headed back to Montgomery.

We miss him already!  We're hoping the next few days fly by!!
