Everyone had a great time, including this little guy, who loved sharing my turkey and cheese sandwich in the hospital cafeteria after his appointment...
While we were waiting for the other boys to pick us up, we noticed a bluebell truck outside of the lobby, giving away free ice cream for valentine's day. Oliver and I shared some, and then when Brian and the boys came, they all got to have a valentine's treat, as well. :)I'm not usually picky about what the boys wear on a daily basis. They love to dress themselves, and I get a kick out of seeing what outfits they put together everyday. Jake has got to be my favorite these days...it's all about the accessories...beads, yellow boots, head bands, etc. Nate, however, LOVES to wear his Armstrong family reunion t-shirt he received a couple of summers ago from an Oklahoma reunion that is about 5 times too big. and it's probably not the cutest shirt he has in his dresser. I've tried to convince him it would be a good pajama shirt, but he just doesn't agree. Now it's just hilarious to see how often he chooses to wear it. Once it's clean and back in his drawer, he just can't help himself. And because he's so fond of it, I can't bear to see it get "lost." So I'm learning to embrace his fashion sense. :)
We headed back to Montgomery late that afternoon and picked up Hudson at the Hodges' house, where he was having the "time of his life!!" (a phrase he uses often). They've got lots of land, and the boys just stay outside the entire time. So much fun!!
That evening after a quick dinner and baths, we got the boys to bed, and then Brian and I spent the rest of our Valentine's night watching a couple of episodes of Chuck (our most recent netflix obsession), while eating takeout Chili's queso and chips, Nancy's Italian ice, and Gigi's cupcakes...a new place with outrageously expensive cupcakes that we really weren't that impressed with. But such a treat anyway!! Such a cozy and yummy way to celebrate after a busy day.
